Competitive
Swim Instruction – Boulder
My main priority during the formative years of a young swimmer
is proper technique: movement & patterns. I like to help my
swimmers know their strengths as well as their weaknesses.
In addition, I ask myself "What is it this
swimmer needs from swimming that can contribute to their life as
a whole?" I look for this information and then do what I can
to develop both their bodies and their being.

My twin daughters,
Brenna and Meagan, began swimming with Beth Davis when they were six
years old. I sought out Beth's help because even though both girls
had taken four summers of group lessons and a summer of private swim
lessons, they still couldn't swim and hated to put their head underwater.
As a former competitive swimmer at the college level, and as a parent
who was concerned about their safety around water, I had a strong
desire to help my daughters develop a love for the water and confidence
in their swiming ability. Beth Davis quickly demonstrated that she
was able to teach the girls to swim where everyone else had failed,
and best of all, the girls loved learning in the process. Beth was
unfailingly patient and encouraging.
Both girls showed great improvement with Beth's techniques and quickly
gained a high level of comfort in the water. Their swimming skills
have dramatically improved during the past five years. They even swam
competitively during the past two summers and were top in backstroke
for their team. They have both become strong and competent swimmers
with Beth's instruction, and they have enjoyed her positive teaching
style. She has made the experience of learning to swim a joy for them.
My youngest daughter, Jacqueline, started with Beth when she was two
and has worked exclusively with Beth Davis for the past four years.
I didn't want to repeat the mistakes I had made with my twin daughters,
and based on my great experiences with Beth, I wanted Jacqueline to
have the opportunity to learn from her.
Jacqueline began swimming competitively last year, at age six. She
is truly at home in the water, and her strokes and swimming abilities
are excellent due to Beth's instruction. Jacqueline was the only six-year-old
in Boulder County to qualify for finals in the 8 and under division,
and she placed 7th in the final meet, even swimming against girls
two years older. This outstanding accomplishment is due to Beth's
instruction.
If you want your children to love swimming and to reach their highest
potential, Beth Davis is a great choice and a superior swim coach.
I recommend her highly.

Our family came
to Beth because we wanted our daughter to learn proper swim stroke
techniques and improve her form. We felt these goals were important
for her to learn at a young age before bad habits had developed.
Morgan started swimming with Beth five years ago at age 3. Beth's
instruction has helped Morgan meet her goals tremendously. Through
the use of skills, drills, and exercises, Beth has helped our daughter
become a more precise swimmer.
Beth stands out from other instructors in that she is knowledgeable
of the skills and techniques necessary for our daughter to be a precise
and confident swimmer. She takes her job seriously and designs programs
and lessons to meet our daughter's individual needs and helps her
succeed.
Morgan now swims competitively in a summer program. It is important
for her to do well in races to keep her interest alive in sports.
We have witnessed that swimmers who receive instruction from Beth
appear to be consistently successful.
Morgan loves going to her swim lesson each week. Morgan executes her
best effort because she has the utmost respect for Beth as an athlete,
instructor, and person.

mother)
