Directions to the Pools

Swim lessons are held at the pool at the Millennium Harvest House, located at 1345 28th Street in Boulder.

Directions to Millennium Harvest House

The Millennium Harvest House is located on the west side of 28th Street, just south of the Safeway shopping center on Arapahoe Avenue.

The easiest access can be reached by heading South on Folsom. After the Arapahoe light, take the first driveway on your left (East), onto the frontage road that parallels the Safeway Shopping Center. Be prepared to turn right immediately into the parking lot for the hotel. Stay toward the right, don't go left.

Entrance to the pool is on the northeast side of the parking lot. The building with several large windows is where both the indoor and outdoor pools are located. There are also indoor and outdoor hot tubs.

Preparation for Swim Lessons at the Millennium

Enter the pool area and make sure to inform the pool attendant that you are there for lessons with me. Locker rooms and towels are available. Long hair needs to be secured or tucked into a swim cap. Please bring goggles.

Easy Way to Protect Skin & Hair from Chlorine

  • Shower before entering pool, entire body including your hair.
  • Apply sesame oil to your skin.
  • If desired, apply conditioner to hair. Using a swim cap further protects hair.

Explanation: Having your skin absorb water before exposure to chlorine minimizes the amount of chlorine that your skin absorbs. In addition, sesame oil acts as a repellant and minimizes the amount of chlorine absorbed. The same principles apply to hair.
